Our Focus Areas
Bakwena-Ba-Mogopa communities consist of at least 17 villages within the North West Province of South Africa; headed by the paramount village; Bethanie within The Bojanala Platinum District. Bakwena-Ba-Mogopa communities can be divided into five (5) clusters:
Pachsdraai (in Groot Marico/Zeerust- under Ramotshere Moiloa Local Municipality)
Ga-Mogopa (in Ventersdorp- under Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality)
Our rural communities have historically been removed from the socio-economic hubs of South Africa due to their geographical location. This situation continuously renders our communities vulnerable; with very little attention paid to them from a development point of view. Despite the situation at hand; these communities are abound by zealous people, resilient youth; hopeful populace and most importantly these communities are abound by natural minerals.
Our foundation intends to
- Facilitate the unlocking of natural assets inclusive of inherent skills and expertise within our own communities with the hope to inspire the re-awakening of; Economic; Social and Cultural development and participation for the benefit of all community members especially the most vulnerable members of our communities.
- Facilitating proper and professional administration is upheld (Culturally; Legally etc)
- Bring back the respect for the cultural norms and ensure that legal obligations are upheld
- Empower communities across various sectors of our society
- Encourage environmental responsibility across our communities
- Ensure harmonisation of cultural norms and laws of the country
